Abstract

In this chapter we look at what our sample of engineers have to say about their experiences of education. We concentrate mainly on their experience of post-school education, since this is the point at which they began to study engineering in some form, and saw themselves as being ‘on track’ for a particular career. Because our sample are professional engineers, all but two (UK engineers who are pursuing professional development through a technician’s route) have at minimum a bachelor’s degree.
