Abstract

June O’Connor’s chapter begins, like most discussions of feminist theology, with an elucidation of the epistemological starting point for feminist theology — which is women’s experience. Here June O’Connor makes some valuable qualifications. Rather than speak of women’s experience (singular), she wishes to speak of women’s experiences (plural). She elaborates women’s experiences in terms of viewpoints, questions, analyses and judgements (all plural); as there is a diversity of viewpoints, so there is a diversity of feminist theologies.
