Abstract

Considering the nature of the Japanese people to be fundamentally that of ‘Don Peasant’, we have tried to understand the ways in which its special characteristics are revealed. I would like to return to the puzzle I presented at the beginning of the book: despite the fact that there was no sign of misgovernment, why did the Fukuda Cabinet give way to the Ohira Cabinet?
