Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Coleridge was a major poet and critic of extraordinary genius. His friendship with Wordsworth was most influential on the development of English Romanticism. After his father’s early death he went to school at Christ’s Hospital where he was noted as an inspired talker, and soon had accumulated a prodigious and precocious learning. Amongst his friends there were Leigh Hunt and Charles Lamb.
