Abstract
In his own day, Bridges was a successful and popular poet. His work sold well, but his reputation has waned. Apart from one or two well-known poems, he is often remembered more for his initiative in 1918 in publishing the poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins, whom he met while studying at Oxford.
