Abstract

Managers are concerned for the future success of their company. They will assess the challenges and opportunities facing them and set goals, usually expressed in financial terms, that they intend to achieve. They will monitor the progress of the company towards these goals and take action to improve performance or revise goals if they have become unrealistic.
