Abstract

The UNIX ps command is used to provide status information for active system processes. Even though the information that is reported by the ps command is sufficient in most cases, there are times when more information is needed. The purpose of this chapter is to show by means of a C program (the “pstat.c” program) a way of obtaining more information about the status of currently active system processes.
