Abstract
A brief explanation of the procedure and the reasoning behind the test should be given to the patient. There should be little in the way of interruptions and if necessary the patient should empty her bladder first. She should be comfortable and reclining on a bed or examination couch at an angle of 30°. In an effort to ensure uniformity of testing and interpretation, a fixed testing schedule should be employed, a duration of 20 minutes usually sufficing.
