Women in the Struggle

  • Leonard Davis

Abstract

As noted in Chapter 1, the history of the Philippines may be divided into four phases: the pre-Spanish period, the Spanish period, the American period and the years since independence. These periods also provide a convenient framework in which to consider the changing roles and status of women in the archipelago, firstly as part of the evolutionary perspective and, secondly, in describing and evaluating their contribution to the revolutionary struggle.
