Abstract
During the latter part of 1985, Italians saw, in the central piazze of their larger cities, student demonstrations reminiscent of the turbulent months of 1968, when large sectors of Italian society were brought to a standstill by a wave of student protest that swept across Europe. Dina Bara, a reporter for L’Espresso, hit upon the idea of putting one of the protesters — ‘contestatori’ of 1968, Roberto Vecchioni, face to face with one of the main protagonists of the new movement of unrest — Emanuele del Giudice. Everyone seems to agree that the reasons for the demonstrations are not the same as they were twenty years previously.
