Abstract

We have already learned that the government has an important influence on business. Nationalised industries produce a wide range of services and the government, either nationally or at local leve, is responsible directly for many other services. In Chapter 16 we will see that the government has a great deal of influence through the taxation system. There are other areas, however, where the effect of government is felt, and any business is constantly aware of its presence.
