Abstract
The Federal Republic has a provisional political constitution, which is clearly defined in the statutes of the Basic Law (Grundgesetz). In addition however the term ‘economic constitution’ (Wirtschaftsverfassung) has become part of accepted ideological currency, even though there is no document of state law which contains the specific statutes of such an Economic Constitution.
