Abstract

Child abuse investigation has come to involve numerous agencies and workers. Yet, uniquely amongst them, only the SSD has a legal duty towards children in this field. Such a duty is, in fact, shared with the police but the SSD is not constrained by the question of whether a crime may have been committed.
