Abstract

The uncertainty relates purely to health. For him it’s how long he’s going to live. For me, it’s how long I am going to have to nurse an invalid. My lover might be ill for six months or a year or more. You can’t make any plans for the future. It makes you examine exactly why you stay together. The real point is, is it all going to be worth it? Would I not be better saying now that I’m going to get on with my life now?
