Abstract

On 7 March 1984, Brian Norry, wages chief for Observer Newspapers, was taken hostage by two men who burst into his flat in London and held him prisoner overnight. Next morning, they forced him to drive them in his car to his offices where he was made to open the safe and hand over the contents. They then took him back to his car and left him handcuffed to the steering wheel. They escaped with £50 000.
