Abstract
In early 1985 the UK home computer market looked a good deal less rosy than the heady days of the previous two years when companies such as Sinclair, Commodore, and Acorn had seen their sales grow at a phenomenal rate. For Acorn in particular, this period following disappointing sales at Christmas 1984 was to prove a most-difficult time for the company. Planning the establishment and growth of Acorn had been no mean task but in many ways Chris Curry and Hermann Hauser, the founders of Acorn, faced many more planning problems in 1985 than they had done before.
