Abstract
The energy problems have become more pressing. The insecurity of energy imports, especially oil imports is as large now as ever. Huge international redistributions of income and wealth from energy consuming to energy producing countries take place. The Malthusian devil seems again to rattle his chains. Many fear that lifestyles and societal values will be endangered by the evolving energy infrastructure.
