Abstract

The philosophy behind this chapter is that supervision is essential for effective co-working and groupwork. Indeed, neither are appropriate without it. First of all the rationale for supervision of the co-work relationship and of the workers’ preparation for and leadership of the group will be outlined. Then the factors which need to be considered when choosing a supervisor will be highlighted. Finally, there will be an outline of what should form the focus for supervision at the various stages of the co-work relationship and work with the group.
