Abstract
The purpose of this chapter is to make some innovations in the field of Marxist urban sociology. These innovations will attempt to avoid some of the difficulties which have been identified in the work of Manuel Castells and Jean Lojkine, while at the same time addressing many of the issues which are central to it.
