Abstract

The science of NMR is dominated by studies of proton and carbon-13 NMR, followed in interest and importance by the NMR properties of elements with high abundance and sensitivity, such as fluorine-19 and phosphorus-31. Nitrogen NMR and oxygen NMR studies owe part of their extensiveness to the central chemical and biochemical importance of these elements: there are certainly easier NMR elements which have not attracted as much attention.
