Abstract

Finding a central measure for your data set is not the end of the story; you also need to gauge whether the values are mostly bunched together, or are widely dispersed. For this you need a measure of spread (also known as a measure of dispersion). To help you, the approach to the topic is mapped out by Fig. 9.1.
