Abstract
For simplicity I intend to take the British environment, political backcloth and legal structure on which to base this chapter and I intend to take a glance at three facets of anti-terrorist operations: international cooperation, intelligence and technology. Four basic components necessary in combating terrorism have been defined by Colonel James B. Motley. Prevention through diplomacy: deterrence through security: reaction through incident response and perhaps most important and most open for improvement, as I hope I shall show shortly, prediction through intelligence.
