Abstract
Production of commodities by means of commodities is anonymous by its very nature. This means that no individual capitalist needs to be concerned either about the source from which he buys his raw materials or about the market in which he sells his product. In his continuous search for higher profit, each individual capitalist is simply concerned to find raw materials from the cheapest source and in realising his potential profit by selling it at the highest price in whichever market he can. Under these circumstances, the very logic of commodity production has a tendency to expand beyond given geographical or national boundaries. Any question of the nationality of either the buyer or of the seller becomes subsidiary to the search for higher profit.
