Abstract
If the word ‘perm’ conjures up a long, shaggy, ‘coupe sauvage’ or a head full of tight ‘afro’ curls, throw away the notion. That was yesterday, when fabricated ‘natural’ curls were still a novelty and the hows and wherefores sometimes not fully understood. Modern perms are in another class altogether. They are an exercise in professional technical expertise resulting in diverse styles, so soft and real, that half the time you wouldn’t know the hair was permed.
