Abstract

As mentioned in the previous chapter, if the structures being imaged by the static B-mode technique are moving, the image which results is blurred. In order to overcome this drawback, techniques for taking rapid B-mode images or, as they are more commonly described, real-time B-mode scanning techniques have been developed. These techniques fall into two broad categories, rapid mechanical scanning and multi-transducer methods.
