Abstract

My daughter was just three when she came home (from nursery school) talking, confusedly, about something she’d heard about ‘the Vietnams’. Last week — she is eight now — she came home from school talking about ‘the Vietnamese boat people’. This time she knows more clearly what she is talking about — and wants to discuss it with me.
