Abstract

Between 1918 and 1945, chiefly in tandem with other writers, including Edna Ferber and Marc Connelly, George S. Kaufman had thirty-five plays and musicals produced on Broadway. Probably his most successful collaborator, the one with whom the public usually associates him, Moss Hart worked on eight. At least once, Kaufman called him his favourite collaborator.1
