Abstract
There are several methods of conveying heat away from one place and delivering it at another. One is absorption of ammonia gas by dissolving in water at one pressure then coming out of solution at another pressure. This can be carried out entirely by heat, using an ingenious subsidiary diluting gas circuit. It is the basis of the ‘Electrolux’ refrigerator and its successors, and is beginning to be applied to solar-powered air conditioning systems (see chapter 11).
