Abstract
The InvoicePrep program of Chapter 9 was somewhat artificial, since the output did not include the customer’s name and address. These were omitted largely because string handling methods had not been discussed at the time the program was introduced. With the knowledge we now have, we can see at least two different ways in which we can arrange for this information to be output. The first involves having a file, CustName, which has a series of entries comprising: (a) the serial number by which the customer is identified; (b) the name and address of the customer; (c) a marker character. This last must be a character (for example, ‘t’) that will never appear in an address. Two successive entries on this file might then be
