Abstract

Simply listening to someone speaking is not a very effective way of learning. We remember only about 20 per cent of what we hear. But we remember 30 per cent of what we see and 50 per cent of what we see and hear (see Figure 10.1 on p. 154). Hence the value of using visual aids to enhance our lectures and presentations.
