Abstract
One of the functions of a bank manager is to grant loans and/or overdrafts to his customers. The usual arrangement is that a particular branch manager is given a specific limit up to which he can lend without security (or collateral) from his customer. Any amounts above the limit generally need to be sanctioned by the advances department at head office.
