Abstract

In the previous chapters we have examined the place of the transport industry in the economy of the country as a whole, the way in which the transport system is organised, trends in traffic carried and changes in the roles of the various transport modes. In the course of this examination, passing reference has been made to the various problems encountered and to the policies which have been developed to deal with these problems.
