Abstract

The technical documentation of a software product is of as great importance as the actual code, since its quality determines the ease with which a developed product may be used, maintained and supported. It is estimated that documentation of a reasonable quality requires 15 per cent of the resources of a development project, and this does not include the work of professional technical authors to produce glossy manuals or advertising material.
