Abstract
AIMS OF THE EXERCISE: to teach students to inter-relate what they have read about small group behaviour in texts to the behaviour of a particular small group to which they belong; to demonstrate the interconnections between social norms and social roles; and to illustrate how data collection may be used not only to study behaviour but also to create opportunities for changing it.
