Abstract
In this final chapter I examine some recent developments in the sociology of scientific knowledge, and end by relating its problems and findings to general issues in the development of sociological theory. Several earlier themes will reappear as I proceed, so that as well as pointing forward the discussion will serve also to some extent as a recapitulation. Note, however, that what follows is neither a survey of current research nor an attempt to assess the importance of Kuhn’s work in that research. I merely seek to outline some interesting themes and ideas and explore how they might be fitted together.
