Abstract

This chapter looks at the consequences, for individuals and teams, of special roles in a team. There is first a brief discussion of the concept of designation. Then the significant role of team leader is considered at length, followed by briefer discussions of specialist, clerical and administrative, non-professional and outposted staff.
