Abstract

In this chapter the labour market experiences of the young people are examined in some depth. The first of the two main classifications of labour market experience developed for this research — the proportion of time in work — is used to assess and compare the achievements of the two main sample groups, and those of the different groups of handicapped young people, over their first two years in the labour market. Unless otherwise stated the analysis is based on the ‘latest’ job, that is the current job or if unemployed, the last job held. A summary of the main findings is provided at the end of the chapter.
