Abstract

The essential activity of man is living. But this has many aspects — providing for material needs, deriving satisfaction from work, appreciating art, music and nature, satisfying spiritual longings, living in harmony with his fellows and enjoying freedom from enslavement by others. The promotion of such objectives is usually helped by organisations — firms, trade unions, clubs and societies, museums, churches, charities and governments.
