Notes
Having survived foreign occupation and internal subversion from the right and left, the Republic found its situation improving. Three important achievements marked the post-crisis era. The first, which had already been embarked upon when Hitler launched his abortive coup, was the stabilisation of the currency. The second was the Dawes Agreement, regulating Germany’s reparations payments, and the third was the Locarno Treaty.
