Abstract

Founded in 1950, the BCAR is the only British refugee organisation operating solely in this country. It also undertakes casework and has a separate section for the reception and settlement of new arrivals granted admission to the UK and a section for dealing with the general welfare problems of refugees who have been in this country for some time but need special support because of age, physical or mental handicap.
