Abstract
The reception, counselling and integration of refugees into the British host community has traditionally been left to voluntary effort. Apart from a Home Office grant to the Joint Working Group towards its Chilean programme, and Overseas Development Ministry funds to WUS for Latin American and Vietnamese students, this effort is carried on entirely through voluntary and non-governmental initiatives.
