The Results of Cancer Treatment

  • Chapter
An Introduction to Cancer Medicine

Abstract

It is often stated that there have been no improvements in the overall survival rate for cancer in the past 30 years. While this may have some vestige of truth it does hide many of the changes which have occurred in individual cancers. It also takes no account of the changing patterns of disease incidence, or the newer methods of treatment which have been recently introduced.
