Abstract
Adams Ice Cream is one of the four well known producers of ice-cream for desserts and confectionery products. Adams and its main national competitors produce approximately 80 per cent of the total ice-cream consumed in the United Kingdom, the remaining 20 per cent being produced by about 200 smaller firms also in the market. The company is part of the International Foods group and is therefore in a strong marketing and financial position. It has two factories, one at Winchester and one at Finchley, and over 30 depots for national distribution. The company headquarters and the main cold store are located at the Winchester site.
