Abstract
In the previous chapter we were concerned with the electrostatic field and effect of charge distributions in free space. We now consider electric fields in the presence of materials. The space in which an electric field exists is usually a dielectric such as air, mica, oil, etc., and the boundaries of this space where charges in the main reside are conductors such as aluminium, copper, etc.
