Abstract

Most fungi are able to reproduce both asexually and sexually, and both methods usually imply the formation of spores from various types of sporogenous cells borne on either simple or compound sporophores. However, in asexual reproduction, hyphal cells are sometimes converted directly into spores; or stromatic groups of hyphae may have a propagative function, as with sclerotia. A third type of reproduction is that known as parasexual reproduction.
