Abstract

The first and most important rule is to do no harm. When the patient presents for treatment, particularly for an eczema, many remedies may have been applied both of a domestic and proprietary nature. The skin may be so damaged by these preparations that it will react unfavourably to applications to which one would expect a favourable response under normal circumstances.
