Introduction: The Central Executive Territory and the Executive Centre

Prime minister and Cabinet do not exist as isolated pinnacles of British government. They exist in the Central Executive Territory of British government. The two sets of officials and advisers making up the Prime Minister’s Office and the Cabinet Office might best be referred to as the Executive Centre.
