Abstract

In this chapter we continue on the road from C to C++. We will be reviewing some more elements of C and introducing more C++ enhancements. Some basic concepts concerning functions and program structure will be discussed. We will be looking at where and in what ways variables can be accessed, how functions can be used to improve program structure and how arrays of simple data types can be used. We will be introducing ways of modifying the use of cout through the use of output manipulators and will look at some examples using references.
