Abstract
By celebrating, I do not mean the sort of ceremony when you put on a gown and mortar board and have your photo taken. As awareness exists only in order to go beyond it, so celebrating means celebrating yourself and celebrating the other person. How, you may ask, does this relate to managing yourself?
Those who are able to celebrate life can prevent the temptation to search for clean joy or clean sorrow. Life is not wrapped in cellophane and protected against all infections. (Nouwen, 1978, p. 95)
