Abstract

All microwave and millimetre wave systems detect a signal in some fashion. This can be done using a simple detector circuit, or using a mixer circuit which also translates the signal from one frequency to another. This frequency translation gives us the ability to simultaneously transmit different signals at different frequencies — generally called frequency division multiplexing.
